Edinburgh Global Undergraduate Scholarships for Students Outwith the EU

Scholarship Description: Scholarships are offered to students who are nationals of countries outwith the EU for undergraduate study in any subject offered by the University. 20 scholarships are available for the 2011-2012 session with each award worth £2,000 per year. Awards are tenable for the duration of the programme of study.
The scholarships are competitive and awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit.
They are awarded to students who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for undergraduate study at the University of Edinburgh.
Students already on a programme are not eligible.
Applicants must also be nationals of a country outwith the EU

Scholarships Cranfield University School of Engineering

The Process Systems Engineering Group at School of Engineering, Cranfield University is a small vibrant multidisciplinary team. We are seeking to strengthen the research team in the area of modelling and simulation for energy processes such as power plants and CO2 capture technologies.

A project is funded by Biomass and Fossil Fuel Research Alliance (BF2RA). The project is aimed at investigating whether a supercritical power plant with post-combustion CO2 capture plant can satisfy the UK Grid requirements. The study will be carried out through modelling and simulation. A major power generation company in the UK will be closely involved.

The candidate sought is expected to have a strong interest in modelling and simulation for power generation systems and preferably with thermal energy or chemical engineering background. Good understanding of power generation principles and exposure to chemical engineering are desirable. The PhD studentship is expected to start from 1st Nov. 2010.

Academic Qualifications:

We are looking to recruit a very high calibre PhD student. The candidate must be able to demonstrate "a capability to undertake and benefit from research training through to completion, to the standard necessary to qualify for a PhD." This normally requires an upper second class honours degree, or a combination of qualifications and/or experience equivalent to that level.

Residence Requirements:

This fully funded PhD Studentship (including overseas tuition fee and stipends for a period of three years) is open to all applicants (i.e. including candidates from Overseas). In other words, there is no restriction for nationality or residence status. Monitoring of Pesticide Residues Analysis at National level

Fellowship Program at National Institute of Occupational Health, India

Time bound research project sponsored by the Agriculture, Government of India. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Qualifications:

Essential: M.Sc., Degree in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Agriculture Chemistry/Entomology.
Desirable: Preference will be given to those who have passed the National level test like NET, GATE etc.
Experience: Basic and practical knowledge of GC, HPLC,GCMS, LC-MS and exposure to pesticides residue analysis. Wet Chemistry laboratory work and exposure to pesticide residue analysis.

Age Limit : Below 35 Years

This program awards Type 1Type 1Pays full college tuition, most fees and $900 per year for books. scholarships. In many cases, these scholarships can activate during the same term as nomination.

The Express Scholarship program is operated on a fully qualified basis – those who meet the qualifications are awarded the scholarship and do not meet a scholarship selection board. The processing of the scholarship award is completed at the local detachment.

* Be a United States Citizen
* Pass the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test » (AFOQT) or have your failing scores waived after two failures
* Pass the Air Force ROTC Physical Fitness Test »
* Have at least a 2.5 cumulative college grade point average
* Pass a physical examination and be certified as commissioncommissionBestowed upon an AFROTC graduate by the President of the United States recognizing them as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. -qualified by the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board
* Not already be a contracted scholarship recipient
