The PhD Academic College Scholarship project is related to a recently initiated interdisciplinary strategic research project ‘Next Generation Technology for Global Software Development’ whose main objective is to understand the key challenges and opportunities for communication and coordinative activities between globally dispersed participants engaged in close collaboration when developing software systems. This Academic College Scholarship research project is conducted by an interdisciplinary and international consortium consisting of academic partners from Copenhagen Business School, the IT University of Denmark and Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, and of three global IT companies as industrial partners.
The PhD Academic College Scholarship is likewise expected to join the department’s and CBS´ research environment. Integrating methods and perspectives from the social sciences and the humanities, the Department of Intercultural Communication and Management focuses on the challenges of globalization for business and society and on how companies, governments and individuals themselves constitute the phenomenon known as globalization. Research revolves around how global flows are transforming the ideas and practices of management, organization and governance in both the private and the public sectors. Researchers share a concern with communication and cultures across a number of distinct thematic fields.
